Xykon is a dedicated contributer and participant in various open source communities. In addition to being a proponent of Open Source Software Initatives, we also specialize in integrating open source applications with proprietary software, thus widening the number of options available to our clients. Some open source technologies we implement are:

  • Apache is an Open Source HTTP Server on the Internet since April 1996. This application is developed in C and is the most popular web server. Apache is extremely secure, available for major Operating Systems like Unix, Windows, Mac, OSX, Solaris and Linux. It supports a variety of common language interfaces such as Perl, Python and PHP and can run virtually on any hardware platform.  

 

  • Spring Framework is an Open Source used to resolve the complexity issues in the development of an application. This framework is mainly developed to use it on J2EE platform. It's layered structure makes its modules isolated from each other. Spring Framework is flexible and easy to use for all the business objects and can be used in the existing objects. 

 

  • Liferay is the world's leading open source enterprise portal solutions for integrating information, people and processes.  It has built in Content Management System and Collaboration Suite and can run on  all major application servers, databases and operating systems using Java and Web 2.0 technologies.  Life ray is the first portal to introduce Web OS and deploy AJAX enabled user interfaces.

 

  • Linux is a widely used Open Source Operating System. It's Functionality, Adaptability and Robustness made to choose this Operating System when compared to Windows or Unix. Linux is primarily adopted as a server platform. 

 

  • Shibboleth is an Open Source software package that enables organizations to build single sign-on environments. This option allows users to access all the web based resources using a single login. It provides security for the information transferring through this and protects the privacy of the user as well as the security of the data.

 

  • Subversion is an Open Source Version Control System which maintains current and older version of files, source code and documents. It was developed by CollabNet in 2000. SubVersion allows to access source code from local and global networks.

 

  • Eclipse  is an Open Source Community used for Software development platform comprising of extensible frameworks, tools, deploying and managing software. It is mainly used to build the applications in Java and J2EE, also used to develop in C++, Cobol, Python and so on.

 

  • CiviCRM is a web-based, opensource Customer relation management system. It allows to manage information about members, cliens, volunteers, activists, donors, staff and vendors. CiviCRM integrates directly with open source Content Management systems like Drupal and Joomla.
